The self-retracting and self-locking retractable Auto Reel Plus fall arrest lanyards provide a maximum fall restriction, giving users a vertical fall prevention lifeline that is flexible while remaining taut, successfully avoiding falls.

Based on the individual's motion, the lanyard extends and retracts. The lifeline is kept tight at all times by the retraction mechanism. The automatic speed brake is triggered and the fall will be stopped when a rapid increase in speed, such as a fall, is recognised.

The lanyard should be replaced every three years, based on the manufacturer, however, PPE worn in extremely corrosive environments deteriorates earlier. However, after three or four years of little usage, a lanyard may still be functional.

It is necessary to get a new retractable lanyard for one that has been dropped. However, frequent usage can harm or partially activate the personal energy absorber. If so, it must also be taken out of service and examined.
