Course Aims
This course is designed to provide delegates that need to enter Confined Spaces with an in-depth understanding of the requirements of the law, associated regulations and safe systems of work & safe application through practical training.
Course Locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Castleford, Manchester, Wellingborough, Rainham, Heathrow, Southampton, and Exeter. On-site training is available via our mobile confined space training trailers.
- Recognition of a high risk confined space
- Overview of legal responsibilities including the confined space regulations and guidance
- Duties of the entrant, entry controller (including BA control) and manager
- Emergency arrangements when wearing breathing apparatus
- Recovery of a fallen team member
- Overview of method statements
- Understand the permit to work
- Dangers from gases
- Safe use of the gas monitor
- Safe use breathing apparatus
- Safe use and fitting of a rescue harness
- Pre use inspection & correct assembly of tripods & retrieval devices
- Pre-use checks and tests on breathing apparatus
- Donning, doffing and using breathing apparatus to carry out tasks
- Entry monitoring including Breathing Apparatus Control Boards
- Emergency arrangements including recovery of a fallen team member
- Use and application of equipment and procedures for high risk and emergency arrangements
