Course Duration: 1 day - 8 guided learning hours. Course starts at 09:00, finishes around 17:00
Course Locations: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Castleford, Manchester, Wellingborough, Rainham, Heathrow, Southampton and Exeter.

Course Aims
This RoSPA Assured course is designed to provide delegates that need to enter confined spaces with an in-depth understanding of the requirements of the law, associated regulations and safe systems of work & safe application through practical training.
- Overview of legal responsibilities including the confined space regulations and guidance
- Duties of the entrant, entry controller, and manager
- Emergency arrangements
- Understanding of risk assessments
- Overview of method statements
- Understand the permit to work
- Dangers from gases
- Safe use of the gas monitor
- Safe use of escape breathing apparatus
- Safe use and fitting of a rescue harness
- Pre use inspection & correct assembly of tripods and retrieval devices
- Confined space equipment care and maintenance regimes
- Gas detectors – basic functions and interpreting information
- Escape breathing apparatus – checks and donning / doffing procedures
- Rescue harnesses – inspection, fitting and correct use
- Access equipment – inspection and safe use of tripods and fall arrest/recovery winches
- Practical assessment – pre-entry checks, entry control, communication, recognition of emergency, safe evacuation and post-incident reporting
