3M Scott 9 Litre Carbon Fibre Cylinder

Overview

The Scott carbon fibre 9 Litre cylinders are used in conjunction with the Scott SCBA set, this 9 L cylinder provides up to 30 minutes of breathable air for the wearer with an additional 15 minutes of emergency air .

The Scott 3M 9 litre cylinder is made from carbon fibre wrapped with aluminium composite to produce a lightweight cylinder that withstands high pressures, a total of 8.8kg fully charged weight allows continuous work without discomfort.

Each Scott 3M 9 litre cylinder comes complete with a 200 bar cylinder valve. All cylinders are fitted with a standardised compressed gas association (CGA) fitting so the 9 Litre cylinder will fit with any SCBA assortments.

How long are Scott 3M Safety carbon fibre cylinders viable for?

All SCBA bottle are limited to a service life of 15 years before decommissioning. That rule applies to all SCBA including the Scott 9l carbon fibre cylinder. What is a composite SCBA cylinder?

Composite materials are made of two or more different types of material. In this instance, the Scott 9 Litres cylinders wrap an aluminium alloy liner with carbon fibre to produce a lightweight and durable cylinder, built to withstand high pressures.

How often do Scott SCBA carbon fibre cylinders/bottles need to be hydrotested?

Carbon fibre SCBA bottles should be tested every 3 years, throughout their lifetime Scott 3M cylinders should be tested (over a 15-year shelf life) 5 times.
