EA UltraTEV Plus2 Partial Discharge Tester

The UltraTEV® Plus² is a versatile hand-held tool used to easily detect and classify Partial Discharge in a wide range of electrical equipment. The UltraTEV® Plus² uses inbuilt TEV and Ultrasonic sensors and external accessories to detect the presence of potentially damaging Partial Discharge in switchgear, cables and overhead line equipment. The UltraTEV® Plus² brings together several complementary sensor modes in a single handheld instrument. By regularly checking switchgear while it’s in service using the UltraTEV® Plus², failure risks can be identified and action taken to avoid faults and downtime. Partial discharges (which are electrical discharges that do not completely bridge the insulation between electrodes) may be small but they can cause progressive deterioration of insulation that may eventually lead to failure. Non-intrusive partial discharge detection using the UltraTEV® Plus² provides a means of identifying these potential sources of insulation failure. If not detected the discharge may result in failure causing not only in loss of supply to customers and damage to plant but could also endanger staff.
