Baur TRG10/6 Cable Identifier

ENSURE THAT THE CABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED IS DE-ENERGISED AND ISOLATED BEFORE PROCEEDING. The Baur TRG10/6 Cable Identifier equipment must not be connected to live cables. Ensure that all relevant safety procedures are followed and that this equipment is only used by properly trained and authorised personnel. Short-circuit two healthy cores of the cable to be identified at one end. Connect the output leads from the transmitter WG6P to the same cable cores at the other end. The signal emitted by the transmitter is picked up by the coil and amplified by the receiver. The receiver signal is monitored by an analogue meter, which can be backlit in dim conditions, and an audio sounder. The receiver has a switchable 50Hz filter to aid identification of the cable. To conserve battery life a comfortable large size push button energises the receiver and ensures that it cannot inadvertently be left on.

When using The Baur TRG10/6 Cable Identifier, the transmitted signal may possibly be induced into cable(s) running adjacent to the cable to which the transmitter is connected. Positive identification can be made by running the pick-up longitudinally along the cable for a length of about 1-2 metres. On the correct cable a distinctive rise and fall of the received signal should be indicated due to the lay or twist of the cable cores. Tracing length 30km maximum
