SUPERVISOR S1 - Monitoring, Signing, Lighting and Guarding (NOVICE)
This course is designed to provide supervisors with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively monitor and oversee signing, lighting, and guarding of roadworks and temporary traffic management. The course ensures compliance with regulations and promotes safe working practices on highways and roadworks sites.

- Legislation and Regulations - Understanding the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice.
- Supervisor Responsibilities – Overseeing operatives, ensuring compliance, and implementing corrective actions.
- Types of Signing, Lighting, and Guarding - Setting up and monitoring traffic management systems in different environments.
- Risk Assessment and Site Safety - Identifying hazards, assessing risks, and ensuring safe working conditions and best practices are followed.
- Use of Risk Assessment and Site-Specific Survey to select appropriate Traffic Management system to ensure Compliance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
- Pedestrian and Vehicular Access – Maintaining safe access for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles.
- Inspections and Common Non-Conformities - Identifying and rectifying issues to maintain compliance.
- Emergency Response Procedures and Post-Incident Reporting
