SEBA KMT 12kV EZ Thump Cable Locator

Overview

The EZ-Thump is a cable fault locator for use on primary URD cables. The Seba EZ-Thump is a fast and reliable, automatic instrument designed for immediate battery or AC operated fault location of LV and MV cables.

Operated through a rotary control knob, the instrument is very easy to use with very little training required beforehand. Users simply have to connect the instrument, switch it on and prelocate the fault. The Seba EZ-Thump is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use due to the weatherproof casing.

How do I use a cable fault finder?

When locating faults in cables using the SEBO KMT Thumper. Whilst walking alongside the selected cable route set the thump cable locator to thump, applying a higher DC voltage will cause a louder thump.

The SEBO Thump Cable Locator uses acoustic signals and electromagnetic impulses of the shock discharge to evaluate the difference. When the shortest time is indicated, the SEBA EZ reveals the exact fault location
