Megger HVB10 Earth Sheath Fault Tester

The Megger HVB10 Earth Sheath Fault Tester is engineered to deliver accurate and dependable cable sheath fault location even over extended high-voltage cable runs. As high-voltage (HV) bridge technology, it is especially suited to cases where reflection-based approaches fail, such as long crossbonded cables or deep burial scenarios. 
This instrument executes an automatic test sequence; you can choose between a standard mode (fast locating of typical sheath faults up to several hundred kilo-ohms) and a high-accuracy mode (for difficult, high-resistive or intermittent faults). The intermittent-fault detection algorithm enables identification even when the fault spark is sporadic. 
Because it measures resistance rather than relying solely on impedance reflection, the HVB10 is robust against changes in cable impedance and imperfections in the line. This makes it particularly valuable in long underground, submarine, or crossbonded cable systems. Used in Utility networks applications (electricity distribution, transmission) for diagnosing sheath faults in long HV feeders. Subsea or underground cable installations (offshore wind, offshore substations). Telecommunications and pilot cable systems bundled with power circuits.
