Vp ESS re-certified to ISO 50001:2018 certification
We’re proud to announce that we have re-certified to ISO 50001:2018 certification - an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
This internationally recognised standard focuses on how organisations monitor, manage and reduce energy consumption across their operations.
Over the past year, we’ve introduced and strengthened a range of initiatives across the business, to improve energy efficiency across including:
Smarter route planning to reduce fuel consumption
No-idling campaigns and awareness signage
PIR sensors to automatically switch off lighting when not in use
Thermal imaging and FLIR analysis to identify and reduce heat loss
We were particularly pleased to demonstrate year on year electricity reductions at our Castleford depot, one of the highest levels of energy consumption at Vp ESS, through these initiatives. These images show our Castleford Branch manager demonstrating to the external auditor how we used ESS Thermal imaging, FLIR camera to identify areas of heat loss and put actions in place to reduce heat loss.
Across the wider business, we’re also proud that Vp uses 100% renewable electricity* (in the UK) and that ESS is continuing to lead the way with commercial EV adoption across three locations.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us achieve this certification again this year and supporting our sustainability journey. Every improvement, no matter how small, contributes towards a more energy efficient future.
