Baugh & Weedon Pipecheck 2 Ultraonic Water Pipe Verifier

The Baugh & Weedon Pipecheck 2 generates ultrasound which travels readily in water. When its probe is in contact with a pipe, an ultrasonic signal is transmitted into the pipe wall. This causes a series of standing echoes to develop. lf the pipe is full of water, and certain criteria are satisfied, a fraction of the ultrasound will travel across the internal diameter of the pipe and return, by the same path, to the Pipecheck 2. This triggers the water audible signal and green light. lf the pipe contains gas, whether natural gas or air, or other contents the sound remains within the pipe wall and the red light is triggered (the sound does not travel within the pipe). Similarly, if the pipe contains water, but is heavily corroded then the red light may trigger. For this reason it is recommended that a pipe is tested several times in different places, and if a water response is achieved and repeated, it can be relied upon.

• The Baugh & Weedon Pipecheck 2 is a simple-to-operate hand-held instrument, which will positively identify pipes filled with water.
•  A green LED indicator light will show together with an audible sounder when the instrument detects a full water pipe.
• When it detects a pipe that is filled with gas, whether it is natural gas or air, a red LED light will show.
